Mike is able to lend in all 50 states, and has access to a national array of investors, state-of-the-art technology to complete each transaction in the most expedient manner possible, in-house underwriting, fast pre-qualifications and online accessibility.
Born in Bellville, Texas, Mike obtained a bachelor’s in Agriculture Economics in 1977 and a master’s in Land Economics and Real Estate in 1978 from Texas A&M University. He began his professional career in commercial banking, and in 1982, he affiliated with a residential mortgage lender, managing several branch locations for a major financial group. Mike joined Cornerstone in 1988 and has the distinction of funding its very first loan.
In addition to his busy career, Mike is an active member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, the Valley Lodge Trailride Association and his church. Mike and his wife, Susan, have been married 25 years and have two children, Michael, Jr. (Texas A&M ’06) and Morgan (Texas Tech ’07). Mike says his favorite pastime is “sitting on the porch at the farm.”
