Before beginning his career in the mortgage banking industry, Russ graduated from The University of Georgia in 2005. During his college days, Russ was a starting lineman for the University of Georgia Bulldogs; he was also a member of two SEC Championship football teams and was later drafted to play on a professional level. Russ's football career helped develop his team-based business approach, outstanding work ethic, "can-do" attitude and will to succeed.

In his spare time, Russ enjoys following UGA football with his wife Shelley.
