Born in Portland, Oregon, Charla has lived in California since 1979 and has been a resident of Escondido since 1989. She graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and spending time with her husband Jaime, daughter Amanda, and son Austin.
