Chief Executive Officer / Mortgage Banker and Director
Mr. Laird joined Cornerstone Home Lending as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development in August 2014. He has served as Chief Administrative Officer of Cornerstone Home Lending since November 2019, and he has been a member of Cornerstone's Executive Committee since 2014. He has been a member of Cornerstone's Board of Directors since February 2021. He previously served as Cornerstone's Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development from August 2014-October 2019, where he assisted in a variety of new initiatives across the information technology, loan production and secondary marketing divisions, as well as coordinated strategic decisions relating to various legal, compliance, risk, human resources and administrative matters.
With 33 years in the mortgage banking business, Jim Hunter leads with proven experience and is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others. He joined Cornerstone Home Lending in January 2001 and partnered with Gene Humphries to build the Mountain West Region for Cornerstone. With Gene moving to a corporate role, Jim assumed the leadership as Regional President. Jim’s vision is to continue to create a fulfilling workplace with the highest quality of professional talent, working together to help people reach their dreams.
Chief Revenue Officer
After graduating from CSU with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Real Estate, Gene Humphries entered the mortgage industry. For the past 12 years he has been the Mountain West Regional President but has recently taken over a new roll, Chief Revenue Officer. Gene is passionate about providing superior customer service and positively impacting the lives of homeowners within the community. Outside of work he loves to go to church, travel, and be with his family and friends.
Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis
Cody Hart graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 27 years of experience in the mortgage industry and has been the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for Cornerstone 12 years. In his free time, Cody enjoys golfing, hiking, traveling, four wheeling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Vice President, Production Support Manager
Alice grew up in Iowa and graduated with a degree in education. She taught for a short time but quickly decided that mortgage banking offered lots of opportunity and constant learning. Starting as an assistant processor, she has held a multitude of positions from internal audit to managing an underwriting group. She now leads a fantastic team that is ready and able to help with nearly any challenge from pre-qualification through post-closing.
Regional Business Manager
Pam Carrington started her career in the mortgage industry right out of high school. After working for 6 years, she went to CSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Computer Information Management. She now has over 40 years of experience spanning from processing to originating. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Vice President of Operations
Connie Begger has worked in the mortgage industry since 1991. She manages processing and closing for the Mountain West Region and has previously managed post-closing operations and compliance/risk functions. Born in Billings, Montana, Connie earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Montana State University and her Master of Science in Finance from Colorado State University. She is an active member of CMLA, currently participating on the Operations and Compliance Forum.
Connie has lived in Colorado since 1990, and in her spare time, she enjoys gardening, yoga, and Pilates, but her favorite times are spent with her family. Connie takes pride in helping people obtain the American dream of home ownership!
After nearly 2 decades as the Mountain West Division IT Support Specialist, Matt moved into a new role in 2020. This role has allowed him to expand his sphere of influence to include project management, program development, report creation and management, IT Support, and team member engagement and accountability. Matt strives to make a positive difference in the lives of our team members every day. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, visiting breweries with friends, and tailgating at CSU football games.
Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth
Stacey Harding, Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth for Cornerstone Home Lending, is a mortgage banking executive with 38 years of broad experience in the mortgage lending industry. Mr. Harding is passionate about building and growing production teams and believes his approach to servant leadership has been the key to his success.
During his diverse career, in addition to Originations and Branch Management, he managed a National Operations and Originations platform for a top 3 builder-owned mortgage company and served as Executive Vice President and National Production Manager for another Colorado mortgage company. In his new role, Mr. Harding will be working with the Executive and Regional Leadership teams at Cornerstone Home Lending to help grow and lead the organization with quality production teams, including new Branch Offices, as well as strategic Joint Ventures.
Regional Talent Acquisition Manager
Tonya is a Regional Talent Acquisition Manager at Cornerstone. She joined Cornerstone in 2020 to support the advancement of the Humphries Region, and comes with over 12 years of recruitment experience. Tonya is very knowledgeable in developing sourcing strategies, behavioral assessments, relationship development and employment marketing. And, she is passionate, to say the least, about helping individuals reach their professional goals.
Tonya and her husband, Gary, have two daughters, and recently added a Labradoodle to the family. In her free time she enjoys following her daughters’ activities, attending concerts and traveling.
